• Aqua (H2O's Fancy Name): When we were told that we have to call our purified water “Aqua” we thought they were kidding. But we can’t fight bureaucracy. So we aren’t trying to be fancy, but we do need to call our water “Aqua” sometimes.
• Magnesium Hydroxide (Milk of Magnesia): Commonly called Milk Of Magnesia, this has long being taken as an antacid or in larger doses as a laxative. It may seem a bit strange to use it in skin care, but it fits in with MooGoo’s philosophy of using edible ingredients on our skin whenever possible.
• Xanthan Gum (Food Grade Thickener): Xanthan Gum is a glucose based ingredient derived from the fermentation of corn. It is used in a lot of foods and we use it to help keep our creams stable using food based ingredients.
• Piroctone Olamine (Olamine Salt): Piroctone Olamine is an anti-yeast ingredient. Non-irritating, it helps keep the cream free from bacteria and mould.
• Backhousia Citiodora (Lemon Myrtle) Leaf Oil: Helps control bacteria.
• Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract: Cosmetic creams need to stay pure from bacteria. That is why ingredients like Parabens etc are used by a lot of companies. These work great at achieving their aim, but a lot of our “customers” prefer not to use them. We worked for over a year to develop a preservation system based on Hop Extract. All our creams have now been checked for preservative efficacy using the British Pharmacopeia test. We are very proud that we are probably one of the first companies to develop this natural and edible anti-bacterial system into our creams.
• Zea Mays (Corn) Starch: Another food based ingredient that we use to make our deodorant stick to the surface of the skin, so it can do its work without the use of penetration enhancers or other chemicals.
• Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract: A natural astringent that you may usually find in natural facial toners. It is also very effective in deodorants.
